National Diabetes Audit (NDA): Helping to improve diabetes care

Brannam Medical Centre is taking part in an important national project about diabetes care and treatment in the NHS. Please click here for more information.

Please remember to arrive at least 5 minutes before your appointment to give your heart rate a chance to steady. Please wear loose clothing and refrain from Caffeine and Nicotine for at least 30 minutes prior to your Blood Pressure appointment.

All Dr. Bunney's patients have been transferred to his job-share partner Dr. Jackie Tolhurst. She has increased her number of surgeries per week. We are currently interviewing for his replacement at the moment and awaiting appointment. If any of Dr. Bunney's patients wish to change their doctor please speak to a member of reception. Dr. Oliver Hassall is taking on new patients.

We would like your feedback on the care or treatment we give you any time you visit your GP or have contact with the practice. Click on the Friends & Family tab on the right below Further Information for more details. If you would like to give us more detailed feedback about the services we provide you can do this by completing a review on the NHS Choices website. To view Januarys results please click here.

Practice NursesNurse_BP

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly. Our practice nurses hold surgeries every weekday morning and afternoon. They can help with immunisations, blood tests, travel advice, ear syringing, removal of stitches and the treatment of warts and verrucas etc.

To make an appointment with one of our practice nurses, please call 01271 314236 between 08:30 & 13:00 or 14:00 & 17:00 or you can view, book and cancel routine appointments online. It is a simple and easy system to use, and especially useful during those times when the telephone lines are busy or the practice is closed. If you wish to sign up for this service you can either:

             (1) visit the surgery and ask for your online appointments login details, or

        (2) click here - then in the green box, click "Register" and follow the instructions on the screen.

Telephone Advice

If you feel the nurse can help you with advice over the telephone please speak with the receptionist who will ask for your contact number and take a brief message. The nurse will return your call at a convenient time.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible on (01271) 329004 to allow us to give the slot to someone else.

Test Results
